WHAT TO KNOW!
This is a really great Via Ferrata with 3 main sections and 2 or 3 good rest areas up the climb.Â
The course goes from the lower fort on the banks of the river Rhone to the higher fort at the top of a rocky outcrop. The whole trail affords some superb vistas as you climb of the valley below.Â
The first section is probably the hardest part, with a few tricky overhangs that required some safety line changing at awkward moments. However these 'surplombs' are generally brief and should not cause too much difficulty, as the hand and foot holds are very logical.
The highlight of the Via Ferrata is a great monkey bridge at the end in the walls of the upper fort.
Once you reach the summit there is a well signed footpath to return you back down to the car park.
