WHAT TO KNOW!
The La Cordee des Dahuts via ferrata near to the sumbit of La Sambuy in Haute Savoie south of Annecy is a fairly new via ferrata following the French 'sports' tradition. Â The via ferrata is a cliff side course with little elevation gain.Â
This easy course is a great Via Ferrata school for new starters with a number of simple and well placed elements along the length including a monkey bridge, ladder and footbridge. There are also a number of exits along the route as well. Because of the high altitude the course is best on warm summer days, and there is a steep hike up to reach it, if wanted. Overall, it is an enjoyable via ferrata that is best recommended for inexperienced, as experienced via ferraters will find little to challenge them.
I would also recommend the round hike route afterwards back down to the carpark via the Pas d'Ours. This is a challenging footpath with a section of rope to pull you up a steep canyon section.
