WHAT TO KNOW!
The via ferrata on the north face of the Eiger!
The klettersteig Rotstock is a K2 trail that is pretty simple, beautiful and really rewarding. As part of a hike up from Grindelwald or cable car ride on the Eiger Express, it is a fantastic finale to the Eiger Trail (rather than simply coming from eigergletscher station). The 380m ascent is pretty straight forward and is a good elementary course. The route firstly takes you on a few ladders and a lot of rock contact. The view from the top is simply spellbinding and will really give you a feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction.
Be careful for ice however, and the descent is trickier than you might think, with a few rope sections.
