WHAT TO KNOW!
The Tichodrome Via Ferrata above the small town of Noiraigue in the Val de Travers in the Jura, is a classic cliffside via ferrata carved into the niches of the rock. Overall if you are tall, it can be a quite frustrating trail because of the restricted height and actually benefits shorter people or children. The via ferrata is pretty straight forward A to B route without too much challenge. A few tricky moment require you maybe to lean out from the cliff over the void below as you traverse a narrow edge, but nothing too difficult. The views of the town from the course are wonderful, and this via ferrata done in the autumn with the changing of the leaf colours is a wonderful experience to enjoy this delightful valley from this airy elevation.
Once you finish the trail, an easy to follow footpath takes you back along above the route back to the car park.
A good day can be to start on the via ferrata in the morning, and combine with a hike up afterwards to the mighty Creux du Van on the opposite side of the valley above Noiraigue.
Please note this via ferrata is closed until the end of July because of nesting birds.
